SCOPE: Phase II engineering services for the preparation of contract plans, specifications and estimates including TSL, structure and roadway plans for the replacement of the existing bridge structure carrying IL 31 over US 20 and reconstruction of the interchange ramp intersections. The existing single span 70’-10” long and 72’-2” wide bridge is expected to be replaced with a wider and longer two-span structure with the center pier located in the median of US 20 with integral abutments and slope walls. The proposed structure is anticipated to be approximately 175 feet ft. long and 100 ft. wide to accommodate left turn lanes in each direction in ILL 31 and future outside and inside shoulders on US 20. Right turn lanes will also be added from ILL 31 to each entrance ramps. The vertical clearance is also expected to be increased to approximately 16”- 6”. ADA ramps will be placed at corners of every intersection. The Consultant’s work is anticipated to include design of the partial interchange and temporary lighting, traffic signal modernization, provisions for pedestrian and bicyclist accommodations and drainage system improvements. The work also includes topographic survey, geotechnical services and all other incidental work required to complete the project. The project is anticipated to be stage constructed.
